First, you need to place an ad describing what it is that you want to purchase, choose an auction date, and invite sellers to bid. This is probably the most important part of running a reverse online auction because it is here that you let sellers know exactly what it is you want. If you do not express yourself clearly, you might end up receiving bids that are not in line with what you need at all. To avoid this, use descriptions and lots of them in your ad. If you have the make and model number of an item that you want, post them also so that there is no confusion.

Next, you sit back and monitor the activity. During bidding time, you will receive numerous competitive bids and get to watch that price get lower and lower.

After the bidding ends, you need to decide who will win your business. You have 24 hours to do so. If you do not select a winning bidder, the bid automatically goes to the seller with the lowest bid. Once you have selected a winner, you receive their contact information so that you can work with them directly.
